The mission  of the Friends of the Library is "To stimulate the use of the facilities of the library and to encourage reading. To further the cultural life of New Fairfield in literature, the arts, sciences, and public affairs by means of exhibits, public meetings, discussion groups, and similar activities".

The Friends of the New Fairfield Free Public Library are members of the state organization- Friends of Connecticut Libraries (FOCL), who donate time and individual expertise because we believe that libraries are an essential resource for the residents of our town. As Friends of The New Fairfield Free Public Library we always welcome new members.

Since its inception in 1960, the Friends have provided funds of over $600,000 to the library's needs, programs and services. Your donation allows the Friends to continue supporting the New Fairfield Free Public Library. The Friends welcome financial donations at any time. The form to become a member or donate to our cause can be picked up at the circulation desks.
