Overdue Library Materials/Fines and the Food Pantry
Did you finally find that book or dvd you were looking
for? Scared to bring it back thinking
there are huge fines on it? Has it
crossed your mind that maybe you won’t return it because of the cost? Guess what?
You are saved!! Due to our new
computer system, we are granting amnesty during the month of September for all
overdue items. Please clean out your
house, look under the bed, under the couch cushions, in the trunk of the car,
etc. and bring back whatever library materials you may have out that you think
are overdue without penalty to your wallet.
If you know you have past due fines and are reluctant to pay them,
please just bring a donation from the following list of items to the library
for the New Fairfield Food Pantry and all fines will be forgiven. Take
advantage of this gift to the community as these occasions don’t happen on an
annual basis! It’s a win-win situation
for all of us.
Items Needed for the New
Toilet paper, deodorant, shampoo and
conditioner for both adults and children, toothbrushes for adults and children,
dish detergent, laundry detergent, sponges, any canned vegetables except beans,
any canned soup or fruit, tomato sauce, cereal, canned meat, condiments, grape
jelly and peanut butter.
Friends of the Library Book
The Friends of the Library will have a book sale this
weekend, September 22-24, in the Community Room. Saturday and Sunday the hours will be from
10-4. Monday’s hours are from 10-2. Books on Monday will be “free” but a kind
donation would be very much appreciated.
Please support the Friends in their fundraising efforts.
Teen Council Bake
The Teen Council will have a bake sale in
the lobby of the library on Saturday, September 22. Before you go into the Friends of the Library
Book Sale, support the teens by taking home a delicious treat. All proceeds from this bake sale will go
toward the 2008 Teen Summer Reading Auction prizes.
Thank You
Thank you to all of our patrons for
complying with our new policy of bringing your library cards, drivers’
licenses, or some form of ID when checking materials from the library. Thank you, also, for your patience as we
continue to work out the kinks in our new computer system.
September is Library Card Month
September is Library Card Month. Please stop in and see us and get cards for
everyone in the family. Due to some
identity issues, your protection, and the computer system’s program, we will be
requiring patrons to show a library card , driver’s license, or some other form
of identification in order to check out materials. Until the end of September, anyone who has
lost a card may get a new one without having to pay the $2.00 replacement
fee. We can offer you a regular or
key-chain card for ease of use. Take
advantage of this offer!
