Overdue Library Materials
Did you finally find that book or dvd
you were looking for? Scared to bring it
back thinking there are huge fines on it?
Has it crossed your mind that maybe you won’t return it because of the
cost? Guess what? You are saved!! Due to our new computer system, we are
granting amnesty during the month of September for all overdue items. Please clean out your house, look under the
bed, under the couch cushions, in the trunk of the car, etc. and bring back
whatever library materials you may have out that you think are overdue without
penalty to your wallet. Take advantage
of this gift to the community as these occasions don’t happen on an annual
basis! It’s a win-win situation for all
of us. Exception: Previous fines for items already returned
prior to our computer changeover cannot be waived.
September is Library Card Month
September is Library Card Month. Please stop in and see us and get cards for
everyone in the family. Due to some identity issues, your protection,
and the computer system’s program, we will be requiring patrons to show a
library card , driver’s license, or some other form of
identification in order to check out materials.
Until the end of September, anyone who has lost a card may get a new one
without having to pay the $2.00 replacement fee. We can offer you a regular or key-chain card
for ease of use. Take advantage of this
offer!
Sunday Hours
The library will be open on Sundays again
beginning September 9 and run through the end of April. Our hours will be from 1 to 4 pm.
Book
The library will be accepting donations
until September 15 for the Friends of the Library September 22 and 23 book sale in the Community Room.
We cannot accept encyclopedias, magazines, or Reader’s Digest
books. Please do not bring boxes/bags of
books to the library and leave them outside or put them in the driveway book
drop. Donations will gladly be accepted
during library hours.
Summer Reading Logs
Parents, please come in and pick up your child’s summer
reading logs. Attach them to the
Governor’s Reading Challenge log (extras are available) and submit them both to
your child’s teacher. Your children’s library logs will be held
until September 15th only and then they will, unfortunately, have to
be discarded. Please don’t let all that
reading go to waste. All those logs are
tabulated and the results sent to Governor Rell’s office where we are in
competition with all the other towns in the state for a monetary prize and
party.
