Thank you to all who so generously donated
food to the New Fairfield Food Pantry in lieu of paying fines or out of sheer
kindness. It is October and now the
fines are back in place. Remember the fines
are five cents a day for books with a $5 maximum and $2.00 a day per movie with
a $10 maximum. Lost or damaged items are charged full price. Patrons may call to renew items. Movies may be renewed for another three days
and books, magazines, and books on tape/cd may be renewed for another three
weeks.

September’s meeting was lively with discussion! Come to the next meeting and take part in the
fun. October’s book selection is The Adventures of Kavalier and Clay by
Michael Chabon. Copies of the book are
available at the Adult Circulation Desk.
Friday, October 19, Make a Mini Photo Album,
6:30-7:30 pm. Tricia Gauert will assist
teens and adults in completing a memory album perfect for keepsake or
giftgiving. Bring your favorite
photos. A material fee of $15 will be
collected at time of registration. Registration begins Oct. 5.
Saturday, October 20, Candlewood League of
Artists. Anda Styler will demonstrate
painting in the acrylic medium.

Friday, October 12, Magic Treehouse
Adventures, 4:15-5:15 pm. Join Elyse
Felicione as students in Grades 1-3 explore the time of knights through fun
activities including designing a coat of arms.
Monday, October 15, Puppet Players,
4:30-5:15 pm. Tina Ratzken will assist
students in Grades 4 and up in creating a puppet show. The participants will attend five workshop
rehearsal classes and culminate with a performance on November 6 at 1 pm. The five rehearsals will take place on Oct.
15, 19, 22, 29 and Nov. 5. Registration
opened October 1st.
Weds., October 17, Teen Council, 4-5
pm. New members are always welcome. Earn community service time while helping the
library.
Weds., October 24, Graveyard Ghost,
4:15-5:30 pm. Katie Stevenson will
assist participants in Grades 3-5 in making a ghostly holiday display. Registration begins October 10th.
Friday, October 26, Magic, Myths and
Monsters, 6:30-7:15 pm. A family show
filled with comedy and magic featuring ghosts and ghouls in the spirit of
Halloween. Registration begins Oct. 12.
Sunday, October 28, Halloween Fun , 1:30
pm. Hosted by the Teen Council for
children in Grades K-2. This holiday
program will include pumpkin decorating, cookie decorating and games. Registration begins Oct. 14.
