Damaged Materials

Books, magazines, videos, dvd’s and cd’s are great inventions and useful resources for humans, responsible humans.  We haven’t found any dogs, cats, goats, etc. that can read yet, at least that we know of.  When checking out materials from the library, please, place them out of harm’s way.  We know these animals are just itching to be able to read due to the condition of the materials when they are returned.  Some slight clues that give this fact away are chewed corners, teeth marks, moist pages (possibly due to slobber?), ripped pages, scratched or broken in pieces dvd’s, ripped video tape, etc.  All of these conditions can be attributed to infants and toddlers as well.  We know our patrons would prefer not to have to pay for these materials and we hate to have to charge you, but when materials come back damaged, we are left with no choice.  The library resources are free to all.  Let’s try to take care of them!
