Stolen Items

The library operates on a budget to purchase items for circulation and add to the collection as a whole. When items are stolen, we then have to spend more money to replace them or our patrons do not have access to these items. Just this week several DVDS were taken from their cases. Two of the titles were The Visitation and Snakes on a Plane (this second DVD was a replacement for one stolen previously). We will not be replacing it again. THERE IS NO COST TO BORROW ITEMS FROM THE LIBRARY UNLESS THEY ARE OVERDUE. PLEASE DO NOT STEAL ITEMS AND DENY OTHERS THE USE OF THEM!  We will do whatever we can to provide you with materials and services through our own purchases or inter-library loan.  Please respect the premise of the library and know that when the allocated funds are spent, the well is dry until the next fiscal year.  In addition, it simply isn’t worth replacing certain items if they continually decide to take a walk out of the building without going through the proper procedures.  If your registration is expired or you owe over $3.00 in fines, please talk to us before resorting to theft.
