Holiday Closing

   The library will be closed on Sunday, February 17 and Monday, February 18 in observance of Presidents’ Day.  Please plan accordingly.

Black History Month and Valentine’s Day

   The library has displays on Black History Month and Valentine’s Day if anyone is interested in those topics.

Upcoming February Programs for Adults

   Weds., Feb. 20th, Page Turners, 6:45-7:45 pm.  The book selection for this month is Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson.  Copies are available in the library.

   Monday, Feb. 25, Energy Matters, 6:30-7:15 pm.  Learn how our lifestyles and habits affect energy bills.  A representative from CL&P will discuss how to save on heating, lighting and appliance bills.  Each participant will receive a compact fluorescent bulb.

Upcoming February Programs for Children

   Drop-In Storytimes, Thursdays, 10:30-11:15 am.  Stories, music and movement for all ages with Ms. JoAnn.

   Weds., Feb. 6, Teen Council, 4:30-5:30 pm.  Students in middle school and high school meet monthly to advise the library on book, music and program selections.  Community service hours will be given.

   Weds., Feb. 13, Valentine’s Day Party, 4:30-5:15 pm.  The Teen Council will host this party which will include a craft.  For ages six to eight.

   Friday, Feb. 22, Two Right Feet, 1:30-2:15 pm.  A program filled with stories, movement and music.  Children ages three to five will participate using rhythm instruments.

   Friday, Feb. 22, Pajama Storytime, 7-7:30 pm.  Girl Scout Troop 50887 will read stories to children.  Pajamas may be worn to this program.

   Weds., Feb. 27, Chess Instruction, 6:30-7:30 pm.  Second graders and up who have basic chess skills will learn more about basic strategy.  This class will meet for six weeks, 2/27, 3/5, 3/12, 3/19, 3/26, and 4/2.

   Friday, Feb. 29, Kirsten, An American Girl, 4:15-5:15 pm.  Children in grades three to five will participate in activities related to Kirsten and sew a calico cat.

  The library has tax forms for the Federal, Connecticut and some New York 2007 tax returns.
