Citizen News Library Column
Library
The library will be closed Saturday through Monday in
observance of the Labor Day holiday. We
will reopen with our normal hours on Tuesday.
Library Cards
Community members are welcome to get a library card at
any time of the year but September is designated as Library Card Sign Up Month. If you
don’t have a card or lost a card, please stop by and see us. It is library policy that patrons show a
library card or some form of identification when checking out materials. We have had too many identity issues which
make it necessary to enforce this policy.
Please remember to bring your card and those of your children as well
when coming here. This policy is for
your protection.
We often get asked “How old do children
have to be to get a card?” The answer to
that is it’s never too early to get a card.
Newborns may receive a library card.
In fact, the Friends of the Library have a “Books for Babies” packet
available here at the library for infants receiving a card. Stop by and check us out!

Olympic Trivia Question
The Children’s Library had a display on the
Olympics. With that display, the trivia
question we asked was “How many countries participated in the 1896
Olympics? The answer was thirteen
countries and we had two winners that got it right on the nose: Nicholas Filardo and Kaitlyn Gantert.
Friends of the Library
The Friends of the Library are collecting books for
their upcoming book sale in September.
If you have any items to donate, please do so during library hours. Reader’s Digest books, magazines and
encyclopedias are the only items that are not acceptable.
Reading Logs
We know everyone is busy getting ready for
going back to school. Please, parents,
remember to pick up your child’s reading log and attach it to the Governor’s
